Week 4: Map Lettering

This map presentation began with a base map that outlined the land masses that combine to form the zone of the Florida Keys referred to as Marathon. The area includes a series of smaller keys along with the primary island key of Marathon. The primary objective of this assignment was to become familiar with the fundamentals of the Adobe Illustrator softward package. Clearly, the software is a powerful resource. Currently, I feel rather "fumbly" and "stiff" with the use of the functions offered by this softward, but I anticipate that time will permit me to work out the kinks. Go UCONN Women's Basketball! ...no better team out there! :)

  1. I really like the color coded table you created for the map; wish I'd thought of that as it is a good way to use some of the blank space to balance out the map.

    Well Done Sir!

  2. Hey Sean,
Thanks for that...check my choice of Haiti maps :) I didn't add point symbols, but I thought it would be too busy having a bunch of icons on that narrow map, but that might have been a bad call.

  3. The table is nice but watch your color choices on your actual map. Most readers associated blue with water features so those not familiar with the area could think those are water features and then be confused with the table...just a thought.

The software will get easier...I promise!!! Nice map!
